Background
Philip has been living in Turramurra for over twenty years. His four daughters were born in Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. Many voters would have seen him with some or all of the children at the West Pymble Pool in summer, or at local netball courts in winter. He certainly served many at the canteen, when it was his club's roster. He has coached a netball team for one year, and managed one for three years.
Philip would have taught some electors at St. Joseph's College, and coached others rugby.
Other voters would know him from his Network Engineering classes at TAFE's Meadowbank College or North Sydney College.
In recent years,many train commuters would have seen him as he endured the slow trip from Turramurra to Redfern.
Some may even have seen him a few months ago on Millionaire Hotseat as he answered ten of Eddy Maguire's questions in a row. (My children challenged me to do it.)

Worked in a variety of operational rather than policy roles. Responsible for making sure things worked and within a budget.
Experience in a large bureaucracy - the NSW Department of Education - dealing with a high volume of clients, and liaising with various sections.
Has well-developed people and group skills.
Can quickly grasp and analyse technical issues, without needing others to explain these to him. After third year pure maths, technical manuals are light reading.
Can crunch numbers, and understands mathematical modelling. Has mathematical model for ETOs on hold until after election.
Experience in being involved in multiple projects and programs.
Has developed policy papers.
Has experience in relating to the full gamut of contemporary Australian society.
Was simultaneously a part-time small business operator, and a full-time employee.
